Hi Reader, March was full of meaningful moments for our team and community. From celebrating women in Baltimore to reconnecting with our own team and gathering fresh inspiration at a nonprofit technology conference, this month reminded us how much power there is in connection. 💜 Celebrating International Women’s DayOn March 4, Hazel and Rachel hosted Monument Women’s Creative Alliance’s 4th Annual International Women’s Day Soirée, and we’re still reflecting on what a special evening it was. This year’s theme, Give to Gain, came to life through the way the community showed up for one another. From thoughtful conversations to new connections, the evening was a powerful reminder of what can happen when women come together with intention. The event was beautifully summed up by Krish O’Mara Vignarajah, who said it was “built by people who choose to show up for one another.” That sentiment captured the spirit of the day so well. When women invest in one another, communities grow stronger. That spirit was felt throughout the event, and we are so grateful to everyone who played a role in making it such a meaningful celebration. A special thank you goes to the event’s Title Sponsor, Donovan WaterWorks, and Venue Sponsor, Towson University StarTUp for helping make the evening possible. We are also deeply grateful to the many sponsors, in-kind supporters, speakers, vendors, and attendees who contributed their time, talent, and energy to bring the event to life. And thank you to in-kind sponsor and videographer, Drumm Digital Media, for working with TU’s videographer to put together a wonderful event recap video. We’re excited to share a video highlight from the event. While March 8 marks International Women’s Day, the spirit of uplifting and supporting women continues all year long. We’re proud to be part of a community where women support, encourage, and grow alongside one another. To everyone who helped organize, attend, support, or share the event: thank you. Your support means so much to us.
🤝 Time Together as a TeamFrom March 11–13, we had the chance to gather in Baltimore for some much-needed team connection time. Behind every high-performing website is a high-performing group of humans. We spend most of our week in deep-work mode, focused on strategy, design, content, and code for our incredible clients. But Drio is more than an agency. It’s a team of people who genuinely enjoy working together and care deeply about the work we do. Having our Project Manager, Justyne, Virtual Assistant, Katie, and Website Developer, Gen, all together in one room was such a nice reminder that while the tools and technology matter, the real magic behind our projects is human connection. It takes a village to get a brand’s goodness out of someone’s brain and into the world, and we couldn’t ask for a better crew to do it with. This was a simple but meaningful moment of appreciation for the people who help make Drio what it is. 💡 Inspiration at AWS Imagine for NonprofitsThis month also brought the opportunity for Rachel and Gen to attend AWS Imagine for Nonprofits, a conference presented by Amazon Web Services that brings together visionary leaders, technologists, and changemakers working to drive social and environmental impact through technology. The event explored how innovation, data, and advanced technologies like AI are helping transform the nonprofit sector in thoughtful and responsible ways. Through discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities, it was inspiring to be in a room filled with people thinking deeply about how technology can amplify humanity’s capacity for good. As a team that loves supporting mission-driven organizations, it was energizing to connect with nonprofit leaders and fellow attendees who are using technology with purpose. 2026 In the Lead: Best Minority-Owned BusinessesWe’re honored to share that Drio has been recognized by The Daily Record as one of Maryland’s 2026 In the Lead: Best Minority-Owned Businesses. This recognition feels especially meaningful to us because Drio has always been about more than the work we do. From the beginning, we’ve believed in building a business rooted in purpose, creativity, collaboration, and long-term relationships. To be recognized among other minority-owned businesses making an impact across Maryland is something we’re incredibly proud of. We’re deeply grateful to our clients, partners, friends, and community for believing in our work and growing alongside us. Thank you to The Daily Record for this honor. We’re just getting started. 👉 Read the feature here: https://thedailyrecord.com/2026/03/31/drio-llc/ 🚀 Celebrating the Launch of Hyvewise.comThanks for being part of our journey. If your organization’s ready for its own award-winning transformation, let’s talk.-Team Drio |
Hi Reader, I’ve been thinking a lot about the story of Pablo Picasso and the napkin sketch lately. As legend has it, a woman was walking by a Parisian cafe one day, when she spotted Picasso drawing on a napkin. She was a big fan, so she walked up to the famous painter and asked if she could buy the sketch. Picasso responded with, “Yes, that will be 1,000,000 Francs.” The woman was surprised because she had just seen how quickly Picasso had created the drawing. It couldn’t have been more than...
Hi Reader, April brought a season of celebration, renewal, and exciting milestones for our team. From enjoying spring break with loved ones to launching new sites and welcoming a new baby to our VA team, this month was filled with moments that reminded us how much growth and joy can happen both personally and professionally. 💙 A Joyful New Arrival: Welcoming Baby Jack! Hi Reader, A few weeks ago, our Project Manager, Justyne, visited Hazel and me here in Baltimore. When Justyne came to visit, we explained that Baltimore feels like a small town, even though more than 570,000 people live in the city. Many of us have been here for decades, if not generations, so it often seems like everyone knows each other. There’s a reason one of the city’s nicknames is “Small-timore.” She quickly saw what we meant. On the drive back from the airport, she spotted a sign with...
