April Recap: Launches, Spotlights & Celebrations 🚀✨🎉

Hi Reader,

April kept us on our toes, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. From launching new websites to taking the stage and supporting fellow women in business, here’s what we’ve been up to this month:

🚀 Website Launches

We helped bring some incredible digital experiences to life this month:

💫 Supporting the Launch of the University of Baltimore Website

We were thrilled to play a part in the launch of the new ubalt.edu! Our team was responsible for the front-end development, bringing the design vision to life with clean, accessible, and responsive code.

This project was especially meaningful because it reflects the type of work we’re passionate about—partnering with higher education institutions to strengthen their online presence and support their mission.

We were honored to be selected for this opportunity thanks to our certification as a Hispanic-owned web agency—a testament to the doors that open when diverse teams are part of the conversation. 👏

🏆 Best of Clutch Finalist – Thank You!

Big news: Drio has been named a 2025 Best of Clutch Award Finalist! 🎉

We’re incredibly proud to be recognized for our work on the United Way of Central Maryland website redesign, a project built around accessibility, community connection, and an intuitive user experience.

This honor means even more because it was driven by the feedback and support of our amazing clients, partners, and community—you helped get us here! We can’t thank everyone enough for taking the time to vote, share kind words, and cheer us on. Your support truly fuels everything we do.

🎤 WOW Festival Baltimore

On April 5, Rachel took the stage at the Women of the World (WOW) Festival as part of the panel: “Baltimore’s City Makers: Leading the Build Toward Equity.”

She joined inspiring women leaders—Tonika Garibaldi, Delshan Baker, and Amber Wendland—to share how women in community planning and development are building toward a more equitable Baltimore.

Hi Reader, Our International Women’s Soiree isn’t a big money-maker, but that was never the goal. Even though it’s always a lot of work, Hazel and I keep running the event because it keeps us connected to the bigger picture and why we started Drio in the first place. Plus, it’s a blast. Each time we run it, I can expect our wonderful keynote speakers will light us up with their words of wisdom, and that I’ll have fun connecting with new and familiar faces. Each year also always brings an...

Hi Reader, I’m about to start the last class of my MBA. It’s crazy to think that, 21 months after it all kicked off, I’ll officially be graduated in May. As I’m gearing up for the last push, I’ve been thinking about the tennis player, Mirra Andreeva. There’s this thing she does when she wins a tournament that I never see anyone else do. First, she thanks her family, coaches, and opponents. Then she thanks herself. Here’s a snippet from that speech: “I know what I have been dealing with, and I...

Hi Reader, The website world is full of jargon. If you’re trying to get a new website up and running, I don’t blame you if you’re feeling overwhelmed. Even just finding the right “type” of website team can be confusing, so I wanted to give you a little primer. Essentially, website teams usually land in one of two camps: Camp 1: Designers who build websites They typically lead with aesthetics, offer branding support, and create gorgeous-looking websites. That said, they tend to have less...
