The most underrated resource for small businesses? šŸ¤”

Hey Reader,

Iā€™ll keep this quick.

Have you looked into grants that your business is eligible for? If not, I suggest adding it to your to-do list.

Thanks to our business coach, in 2023, we learned that there are so many opportunities for small businesses, women-owned businesses, and minority-owned businesses to apply for grants.

These programs provide resources that help you:

  • Grow your business šŸš€
  • Hire talented people šŸ‘·ā€ā™€ļø
  • Purchase equipment šŸ’»

All while connecting you with other businesses that align with your core values.

As our coach showed us, you can also look for businesses that have received grants to put towards hiring contractors and other professionals. If you can demonstrate your business fits the hiring criteria (e.g. because youā€™re a small or minority-owned business), that incentivizes them to hire you.

Win-win. šŸ™Œ

The more ways you can connect with fellow brands who share your values, the greater your impactā€”whether itā€™s demonstrating environmental leadership, uplifting women, or propelling small and minority-owned businesses.

By teaming up, we become unstoppable.

Hi Reader, There are a lot of fantastic digital communities out there, but weā€™ve never wanted to turn Monument Womenā€™s Creative Alliance into one. Sure, doing so would allow us to grow our membership even more. But the last thing we want is a massive group of people who would barely recognize each other at their local coffee shop. Thatā€™s why MWCA is Baltimore-based, through and through. Weā€™ve always wanted our members to go beyond ā€œtransactionalā€ relationships. We want people to get to know...

Hi Reader, Iā€™m currently taking an International Marketing class as part of my MBA. We've been discussing how cultural influences shape a business's marketing approach, whether targeting a global audience or connecting with a local one. One of the big things thatā€™s stood out so far has been a beautiful affirmation of what we do at Drio: āž”ļø Your cultural differences arenā€™t a nuisance. Theyā€™re a gift. Our differences are tools that help us build more empathy, strengthen more relationships, and...

Hi Reader, January has been packed with growth, new connections, and exciting progress at Drio. From inspiring events to collaborative projects, we've hit the ground running in 2025. Hereā€™s a look at what weā€™ve accomplished this month and whatā€™s on the horizon! āœˆļø Drio in Tampa Hazel and Rachel hit the road (or skies!) for a productive two-day work trip to Tampa, setting up shop at Office Evolution to focus on a new book project in collaboration with Erika Holmes. The title of the book is...
