🌍💻✨ Drio’s June Recap: WordCamp Europe + WordPress Updates

Hi Reader,

June was a big month for learning, connecting, and keeping an eye on what is next in the world of WordPress. From Hazel and Rachel attending WordCamp Europe in Kraków to our team monitoring upcoming WordPress Core updates, we are continuing to stay plugged into the tools and trends that help us better support our clients and their websites.

🌍 WordCamp Europe 2026

This June, Hazel and Rachel headed to Kraków, Poland for WordCamp Europe 2026, one of the largest gatherings of the global WordPress community.

From June 4–6, WordPress users, designers, developers, agencies, contributors, and business owners came together to learn, share ideas, explore new tools, and talk about the future of the platform we use every day to build thoughtful, strategic websites for our clients.

WordCamp Europe was a community-organized event for WordPress enthusiasts of all experience levels, from casual users to Core developers. The event included talks, hands-on workshops, sponsor demos, networking, and conversations about where WordPress was headed next.

For Hazel and Rachel, attending WordCamp was more than a conference. It was a way for them to stay connected to the tools, trends, and people shaping the websites our clients rely on. They left Kraków inspired, energized, and full of ideas to bring back to their work and their clients.

💻 WordPress Update: What We’re Watching

We are keeping a close eye on the WordPress Core 7.0 update, which includes several changes that may impact how clients manage and edit their websites.

One major visual update you may notice in the WordPress backend is a color change from aqua blue to royal blue. While this should not affect how your website functions, it may make the dashboard look a little different when you log in.

A few other updates we are watching include changes to background color behavior, new AI-related features that may raise questions around privacy or payment information, and other adjustments that could create confusion if teams are not prepared.

The good news? This is exactly why Drio monitors WordPress updates closely. We will continue testing changes as they roll out and helping our clients understand what matters for their specific websites, so everything continues running as smoothly as possible.

If you have any questions or are wondering why the backend looks different, please feel free to reach out.

Thanks for being part of our journey.

If your organization’s ready for its own award-winning transformation, let’s talk.

Hi Reader, A few weeks ago, some of our servers were hacked. The days that followed were pretty intense (think late nights, heads down and dedicated to a quick clean-up). This was the second security incident we experienced in the past year (the one before that had been at least 10 years ago). When that last incident happened, we had put in additional safeguards, so our immediate priority was understanding how it could have happened again. Hazel and I leaped into action as soon as we caught...

Hi Reader, Phone calls are my love language. I know. In a world powered by texts and emails, that might be an unpopular opinion. Sure, you can always have too much of a good thing, but there’s a reason why my catch phrase is still “just call me.” Whether we worked together 3 days ago or 3 years ago, if something comes up, a quick call is the best way for us to get to the bottom of things. I can collect the context I need (without needing a massive email chain) and point you in the right...

Hi Reader, May was full of moments that remind us why we love the work we do: celebrating personal growth, creating space for meaningful business connections, and helping mission-driven organizations show up more clearly online. We’re excited to share a few recent milestones from the Drio world, including Hazel’s MBA, a CCBC webinar on leveraging your network, and three new website launches we’re proud to celebrate. 🎓 Celebrating Hazel’s MBA Milestone Hazel’s 21-month MBA journey challenged...
