Monthly August Recap: We’ve had some exciting events occur this past month at Drio

Hi Reader

We've had some exciting events occur over the last month here at Drio. From launching new websites for impactful nonprofits like the United Way of Central Maryland and ReBUILD Metro to celebrating our latest team achievements, this past month has been both productive and rewarding.

Website Launches

At Drio, collaboration is one of our core values, and we especially enjoy partnering with non-profit organizations. This is evident in our recent website launches for the United Way of Central Maryland and ReBUILD Metro.

United Way of Central Maryland

We are thrilled to unveil the newly launched website for United Way of Central Maryland! This project reflects our commitment to supporting organizations that make a profound impact on their communities. The United Way strengthens lives and neighborhoods across Greater Baltimore by promoting equity and enhancing access to essential services.

In partnership with United Way, we crafted a website designed to:

  • Organize Content: Ensuring that visitors can effortlessly find the information they need.
  • Embody Modern Design: Featuring a clean, contemporary aesthetic that highlights the significant work United Way is doing for communities statewide.
  • Showcase Their Brand: Built on a custom WordPress platform, the site accurately represents their mission and establishes a memorable, impactful brand presence.

We’re proud of how this website captures the essence of United Way’s dedication to creating positive change.

ReBUILD Metro

We collaborated with ReBUILD Metro to revamp their 4-year-old website, which serves to attract donors, homebuyers, and renters, offer property management services, and recruit employees and partners. The redesign focused on creating a cohesive and engaging platform that effectively communicates the organization’s mission and fosters a sense of hope for Baltimore’s revitalization.

  • Comprehensive Hub: for donors, homebuyers, renters, and partners.
  • Fresh Design: enhances the user experience and engagement.
  • Innovative approach: supports ReBUILD Metro’s mission and revitalizes Baltimore’s neighborhoods.

Did you know we also offer domain management services?

To get a website online, you need three key components: a website, hosting, and a domain name. We can manage all of these for you, particularly manage your domain name.

Proper domain hosting is crucial to prevent the following issues:

  • Service Interruption: Your website and email services could become inaccessible, disrupting communication and business operations.
  • Expired Domain: If you don't renew your website domain name, it will expire and your website will stop working. Your domain could even become available for others to register, potentially leading to domain squatting or permanent loss of the domain.

Let us manage your domain for you—year by year, we’ll handle everything so you don’t have to lift a finger, ensuring your online presence remains uninterrupted and secure!

Hi Reader, When you look at Martha Stewart, you see someone who made cooking, homekeeping, and decorating mainstream. When you look at Michael Phelps, you see the world’s most decorated Olympian. When you look at Damon John, you see an A-list CEO and charismatic Shark Tank personality. As I listened to each of those very successful people speak at this year’s Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Summit, it was the reality of their low-lows that really stuck with me. Martha went to prison for...

Hi Reader, October was one for the books! From silver wins to national stages, Hazel and Rachel have been busy creating, connecting, and celebrating. Here’s what went down this month: Drio Wins Silver for Our Work on ReBUILD Metro’s Website On October 8, we joined Baltimore’s best creative minds at The Winslow for AMA Baltimore’s 40th Annual MX Awards, a celebration of marketing that makes you go “Oh wow!” We’re thrilled to share that ReBUILD Metro’s website took home Silver, honoring work...

Hi Reader, The first time our website server had a serious security breach (circa 2012), damage control was a nightmare. I essentially had to manually rebuild every client website. Hours and hours and hours of work… If I hadn’t done that, however, I wouldn’t have accidentally become an expert in website security. I’ve been able to apply everything I learned to every other website project, which means we’ve avoided a ton of threats. While it’s much less of an ordeal to problem-solve nowadays,...
